WE PLAY FOR THE CAUSE
The Lansing and Jackson hockey communities are rallying around two hockey players dealing with hard times as both of their parents, Matthew and Sheena, were fatally shot.
Jackson natives, Tyler Sparks (13) skating with the Lansing Spartans, and his brother Lucas (6) skating with the Jackson Giants, lost both their parents March 1, 2020.
The boys are now living with Sheena’s parents, who are burdened with the needs for the two children's hockey funds. To assist the family and have the boys continue to play the game they love, we are raising money towards their ice bill for next year. The goal for the children's ice bills are $3500.
With the remaining funds from the outing, another donation will be made towards the Michigan Outdoors Wishmakers Foundation. This foundation was created in 2019 by a group of guys who wanted to make outdoor dreams come true for children, young adults, and veterans who have not had the ability to do so on their own due to illnesses and/or disabilities.
